Irrigation, the key to agriculture with HDPE networks

The importance of irrigation

Water is the main component (80/85%) of plants, and for this reason, in periods of drought, it is necessary to irrigate the fields in order to guarantee an adequate quantity according to the needs of individual crops.

In the presence of water or an aqueous environment:

  • the size of the tissues, and therefore of the cells, of which the plants are composed increases
  • plant metabolism and chlorophyll photosynthesis are initiated
  • the leaves transpire, allowing the temperature to fall
  • soil microorganisms generate nutrients essential for plant survival
  • the roots absorb the nutrients dissolved in the water

These are just a few of the good reasons why it’s crucial to irrigate your crops, but we’re sure you already know them all!

However, there are different irrigation methods: rain, drip, submersion, furrow and subirrigation… it’s up to you to choose the one that suits you best.

HDPE networks for irrigation

Our company deals with the supply and assembly of the various components of an irrigation system such as hydraulic pumps, valves, PVC manifolds and/or HDPE manifolds, filters, delivery pipes, etc.

In this article, we would like to introduce you to our HDPE networks for irrigation, where ‘HDPE’ stands for High-Density Polyethylene, a thermoplastic polymer made from petroleum that can be safely recycled.

Are you wondering about the special features of this particular material? Let’s list them!

  • Permanent and safe waterproofing
  • Pliability
  • A wide choice of sizes and performance options
  • High chemical, electrical and biological inertness
  • Resistance to abrasion and corrosion
  • Low modulus of elasticity
  • Plastic behaviour in unstable situations
  • Homogeneity of the system
  • Lightness, safety, economy and recyclability

Discover on our site the highly efficient HDPE irrigation systems characterised by high hydraulic resistance and exceptional tensile strength, ensuring high flow rates in any type of soil.
